This program provides needed equipment such as manual and power wheelchairs, tilting shower chairs, patient lifts and portable ramps to those who do not have access to a source of funding for these items. The Chapter has even loaned computerized communication devices to those who otherwise may have remained silent.
If you have durable medical equipment you are no longer using, please consider its potential value to another family living with ALS. Our Chapter staff is always available to discuss the unmet needs of our ALS families, and assist with arrangements to facilitate equipment donations.

Through our Helping Ensure Appropriate Response to Trauma (H.E.A.R.T) program, CACs are partnering with school districts to address trauma related needs of school aged children.
The H.E.A.R.T program is a collaboration between school districts and the Greater Lakes Child Advocacy Center in order (with parental permission) to inform appropriate school personnel when a child has been seen at the CAC, so that school staff can respond to the child’s needs in an appropriate, trauma informed way.

This is a private and safe space for anyone who identifies as a survivor or responder of the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes, but is not limited to, healthcare workers, emergency responders, parents and caregivers, educators, individuals who have lost loved ones, people who are dealing with "Long-haul COVID", those impacted by job loss or economic hardship during the pandemic, and anyone else who has been significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
This is a group where members can obtain resources/support and openly share anything that is going on in their lives that may be impacting them. Our community includes trained peer supporters who are available for confidential discussions via Facebook Messenger and Wall-Posts.
We also offer 24/7 crisis support through our affiliated crisis center via crisis support over messenger.
