Active Duty Army personnel and their Families Army Retirees and their Families. Army Reserve on active duty orders for 30 days or more. Army National Guard on Federal active duty (Title 10) for 30 days or more. Army Reserve and Army National Guard "Gray area" Retirees' children and spouses are eligible for scholarships.

Application process
Must complete application form and apply at your local base. If no military base within a 50 mile radius of your location assistance is available call the American Red Cross at 877-272-7337.

Help with emergency financial needs for food, rent or utilities, emergency transportation and vehicle repair, funeral expenses, medical/dental expenses, and personal needs when pay is delayed or stolen. Offers undergraduate-level education scholarships, based primarily on financial need, to children of soldiers.

Army Emergency Relief (AER) is a private nonprofit which provides emergency financial assistance in the form of loans and grants to soldiers and their families. Assistance can be requested online (www.aerhq.org), through the Soldier's chain of command, at the local installation's AER section, or other military aid society office.
