The purpose of the New Hampshire Real Estate Appraiser Board is to bring New Hampshire into compliance with Title XI of the Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery, and Enforcement Act of 1989. The federal act's purpose is to protect federal financial and public policy interests in real estate related transactions by requiring that real estate appraisers used in connection with federally-related transactions are performed in writing, in accordance with uniform standards, by individuals whose competency has been demonstrated and whose professional conduct will be subject to effective supervision. However, any real estate appraisal service performed by an individual licensed or certified under this chapter shall be subject to the supervision of the board. The Board of Chiropractic Examiners regulates and licenses chiropractic professionals

In 2023, the legislature passed SB 149, establishing a requirement for nurse agencies seeking to do business in New Hampshire to register with the Office of Professional Licensure and Certification. Nurse agencies are “any individual, firm, corporation, partnership, or other legal entity that employs, assigns or refers nurses or licensed nursing assistants to a health care facility on a per diem or temporary basis for a fee.” Who We Regulate: Nurse Agencies

Any individual who who is experiencing a sales or service problem that cannot be resolved between the customer and the company directly, can file a complaint, if the company is a member of NH Automobile Dealers Association. The Consumer Action Program tells the member company that you, the customer, have a problem requiring their attention. In processing your inquiry, the AutoCAP Program first attempts to mediate on your behalf with the member company. Most complaints are resolved by mediation without further action by AutoCAP.

Health Facilities Administration (HFA) is responsible for the oversight and enforcement of basic standards designed to promote safe and appropriate care of persons receiving care and treatment in hospitals and other medical facilities, residential facilities, and through nonresidential health care providers. It handles inspection, licensing and complaints for a variety of health facilities, residential facilities and nonresidential health care providers.

The Board licenses and regulates Physicians, both Allopathic and Osteopathic and Physician Assistants. Also provides license verifications. This does NOT inlclude podiatrists, chiropractors, optometrists and naturopaths are not physicians and are regulated by their own licensing boards.

The Division of Enforcement and Licensing is responsible for the enforcement of all liquor laws and rules as well as the licensing of all private business that are involved with alcoholic beverages.

The Consumer Services Division: *acts as a mediator to help resolve disputes between customers and regulated utility companies *assists you in setting up payment plans for your utility bill *assists when issues arise in establishing new utility service *provides rules and regulations governing utility companies *helps you to better understand your utility bill *provides tips on energy conservation *The Division does NOT provide direct financial assistance for bill payment. Providers of cable service, cellular service or paging services, propane gas providers, heating oil companies, or internet service providers are not regulated by the Department of Energy. The Department also has no jurisdiction over municipal utilities.

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) insures deposits made into banks up to a set amount in the event the financial institution fails. The FDIC also offers consumer protection and information on a wide variety of financial issues. The FDIC Information and Support Center allows users with inquires or complaints about financial institutions, bank failures, or deposit insurance coverage to open cases with the FDIC for assistance and resolution.

If you have a problem with your national bank or federal savings association, and want to submit a complaint, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency's (OCC) Customer Assistance Group may be able to help. The OCC regulates national banks and federal savings associations. Some issues that we cannot help with are: Give legal advice; Act as a court of law or as an attorney on your behalf; Become involved in matter that has been litigated or is being litigated; Advocate for either party; or Seek monetary compensation.

Mediates complaints alleging deceptive advertising claims or marketplace conduct, answers inquiries about companies and charities, issues warnings about fraudulent business schemes, and provides general consumer information.
