The American Cancer Society Road To Recovery® program eases your burden by giving free rides to cancer-related medical appointments. Our trained volunteer drivers are happy to pick you up, take you to your appointment, and drop you off at home. All for free and all to make your days a little easier. Not having a ride shouldn’t stand between you and lifesaving treatment.
ElderPet provides pet food on a regular basis to income qualified, responsible pet owners – preference to seniors and those who are affected with disabilities. This food assistance is meant to help and not necessarily be the sole source of pet food for any individual owner. This food will then be delivered or dropped at a predetermined location. As of 2025, we deliver to Dover, Rochester, Somersworth, Durham, Portsmouth and Newmarket. If a person lives outside this area and needs delivery, ElderPet can sometimes work out another arrangement.

Please note, while currently accepting applications for Coos and Grafton County, if you are a Veteran or if you have documentation from a physician stating that you cannot receive essential medical treatment due to your dental condition you can apply even if you are not living in Coos or Grafton County. If you have dental insurance (including Medicaid), you will need to use this resource first. You will need to provide a copy of your dental coverage and/or a letter of denial with your application (information on where to send needed documentation will be given after an application is submitted).

We also place volunteers in schools to increase literacy for children and adults, and many other areas of community need. RSVP Caregivers provides transportation for medical or basic needs for frail elderly or disabled persons. Volunteers may also choose to provide visitation and companionship, telephone reassurance or assistance with small tasks.
