FOSTER YOUTH INITIATIVE VOUCHER PROGRAM | NEW HAMPSHIRE HOUSING
Eligible youth will receive a Housing Choice Voucher for a period of 3 years. Services to assist the youth in applying, searching for, moving in to, and maintaining housing will be provided either by DCYF or a community agency. Assistance may include financial assistance with rental and utility deposits.

Application process
Apply online or complete and mail a Housing Choice Voucher application. A DCYF referral must be attached to the application to be listed with this special program. Contact your DCYF caseworker for the referral form. **If you have aged out of foster care at age 16 or older and no longer have a caseworker, contact DCYF at (800) 852-3345 and ask for foster youth aftercare or extended care services.

Eligibility
Youth at least 18 years of age and not more than 24 years of age (have not reached their 25th birthday) who left foster care, or will leave foster care within 90 days and are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless at age 16 or older. As required by statute, a FYI voucher issued to such youth may only be used to provide housing assistance for the youth for a maximum of 36 months.
