Pre-CHINS Diversion Program offers information and referral, as well as case management and advocacy to youth who are truant, or who chronically disobey the lawful commands of their parents or guardians, and their families who are at risk of filing a CHINS (Child in Need of Services) petition in District Court.

The Boys Town National Hotline is a 24-hour crisis, resource and referral line especially for kids and parents. Trained counselors can respond to your questions every day of the week, 365 days a year. They can help teens and parents with suicide prevention, depression, school issues, parenting troubles, runaways, relationship problems, physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, chemical dependency, anger and much more.

A full range of quality residential and outpatient services are offered so that we can accompany clients on their journeys from the first time they consider treatment to long-term recovery. We offer: outpatient treatment, including our High Intensity Outpatient Program (PHP and IOP); treatment for pregnant and parenting women and their children at the Cynthia Day Family Center; Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) for opioid and/or alcohol dependence; long-term recovery support counseling and groups statewide with our Peer Recovery Support Services; and services for the Rockingham County Drug Court. We're dedicated to partnering with schools to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of its staff, student body and their families. We work on-site and through telehealth, side-by-side with school social workers, nurses, teachers and administrators to being health care and supportive services not just to the students who need it most, but also students' families and school faculty. We're with our community all of the way! We help youth and their loved ones access specialty care providers and social services, often working with our school nurse partners. We also connect families with systems and ensure long-term supports are in place for students with behavioral health issues. With specialized treatment that may include child care and transportation for parents in need of behavioral health care, we take a holistic, whole-family approach to ensuring health and wellness.

The YLP seeks to get these young people the educational, health, mental health, and other services necessary to stay in their homes and communities and out of the juvenile justice system. The type of work the YLP does includes representation at school disciplinary hearings and special education meetings and proceedings. The YLP does not provide representation in delinquency or CHINS cases, but works closely with the public defenders and court-appointed counsel who do to determine how best to meet the youth’s needs. Serves youth with serious mental illness whose needs are not met by traditional services and programs. Services are community based and focused on keeping children out of institutions.

Clearway High School for at-risk teenagers offers emotionally supportive, self-paced educational environment which encourages students to overcome previous academic failure and discover personal success. The academic curriculum provides competency in basic educational skills: English, mathematics, science, and social studies. A School-to-Work program helps students assess their career goals, and teaches them employability skills through job shadowing, mentorships, and career exploration opportunities. Childcare may also be available to promote school attendance for young parents.

Mayhew challenges and helps at-risk New Hampshire boys to believe in themselves, work well with others, and find their best. It is the only all-boys program in the state that combines school-year mentoring and a residential summer program for at-risk boys, tuition-free, through high school graduation.

The Contoocook School, located in Contoocook, New Hampshire is an intensive educational day school for grades 6-12 approved by the New Hampshire Department of Education. The School’s components include academic programming, individual and group counseling support, recreation, and experiential learning.
