Monadnock Area Peer Support Agency (MPS) is a consumer run peer support/recovery program serving adult consumers of mental health services. MPS is under contract with the Department of Health and Human Services; Bureau of Mental Health, dedicated to the promotion of individual empowerment and recovery. Services such as individual peer support, a variety of support and educational groups, vocational and educational support, and opportunities for social interaction and community integration are offered.

Advocates provide emotional support and information for survivors of domestic and sexual violence and stalking through our 24-hour support line. An advocate is available in person at the office and no appointment is necessary. Peer Support Groups are also available. Advocates can meet survivors at the hospital, police department, or court as well.

Advocates can answer your questions, help you find resources, navigate systems, and connect you to healthcare, legal, and other vital services. They will never tell you what to do. You are the expert in your life. All WISE support is confidential and free.

The Peer Crisis Respite Center is an alternative to hospitalization or for those that do not want to go to the hospital or do not qualify for it. Give us a call or come in and we can see if you would benefit from this great program. The short term stay is 1 to 7 days and is separate but connected to the Peer Center. You can come and go with some simple agreements and communication so you can still stay in your community. The only requirements are we are not a homeless shelter, and are you able to manage you daily medications. A pre-interview is needed prior to entry. Please remember we are a non medical and a non clinical setting, trained Peers supporting Peers.
