NHLA's Domestic Violence Advocacy Project (DVAP) partners with 603 Legal Aid and the New Hampshire Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence. NHLA represents individual victims of domestic violence, especially in rural areas of the state in restraining order proceedings and related child support, custody, and visitation disputes. DVAP attorneys work to obtain court orders so victims can retain and recover use of their homes, and gain child support orders allowing clients to purchase necessities for themselves and their children.

Provides court advocacy, support and court accompaniment for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking who are applying for restraining/protective orders, or who are witness or defendants in criminal cases. Advocates provide emotional support and information for survivors of domestic and sexual violence and stalking through our 24-hour support line. An advocate is also available in person at the office. Advocates can meet survivors at the hospital, police department, or court as well.

Court Advocacy is provided by trained volunteers and staff who offer support and assistance in obtaining protective orders and during other court appearances. Also provided is 24 Hour Accompaniment at the hospital and police departments for victims seeking support.

Advocates respond 24 hours a day to police departments and can meet you at the courthouse to help you make reports or file restraining orders. Domestic Violence Emergency (DOVE) Project is a program of 603 Legal Aid that provides victims of violence and stalking with emergency legal services. The DOVE Project provides free legal representation for qualifying survivors of domestic violence at final restraining order hearings.
