Victims, Inc's Services includes: - Court Advocacy: Victims, Inc. accompanies people through the court process, as they attend hearings, trials, sentencings, and other legal proceedings. - Networking: Victims, Inc. works with law enforcement, courts, schools, fire emergency personnel, media, clergy, and other non-profit agencies training volunteers and responding to needs. - Victims' Compensation: Victims, Inc. assists victims in filing applications for state funded victim compensation. - Legislation: Victims, Inc. notifies victims of pertinent legislative hearings, and accompanies them to Concord for the sessions.

Staff available to accompany survivors of sexual assault to police stations, hospitals, and courts. Hotline available 24/7 Emergency shelter for anyone fleeing imminent danger due to Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault or Stalking. We offer various support groups.

Helps victims with applications for Victim Assistance (medical expenses/counseling/relocation expenses etc.), informs victim(s) and witness of case status and dispositions, of ongoing status, dates and times of hearing, trials and final disposition, acts as a liaison between victims/witnesses and the prosecutor and/or police department, provides pretrial courtroom tours, accompany and supporting the victim and witness throughout the trial, arranges meetings and depositions if ordered, transport for witnesses as needed, directs the victim to community resources for further assistance, assists in the preparation of a statement to the court describing the impact the crime has had on the victim, ensures that the victim is notified of any parole hearings. Also informs victim of any changes in parole status.

Advocates provide emotional support and information for survivors of domestic and sexual violence and stalking through our 24-hour support line. An advocate is also available in person at the office. Crisis intervention/support to victims and witnesses to meet urgent emotional and/or physical needs; Orientation into the criminal justice system, explaining the criminal justice process, advising the status of cases, hearing dates, plea negotiations, etc.; Court advocacy services: such as courtroom tours, accompaniment and support throughout the court hearing including before and after trial; Coordinates victims'/witness' scheduled court appearances to minimize inconveniences and disruption; Make referrals about available financial, medical, psychological, and social services; Assist victims in applying for victim compensation; Prepare witnesses for court to allay fear; Advise victims of their rights under RSA 21:M:8-k, including the right to address the court at sentencing, the right to be notified of parole board hearings and other sentencing changes and the right to be notified of an appeal; Assistance with the preparation of victim impact statements; Assistance in obtaining witness fees; Facilitate the return of property being used as evidence

This program is designed to reduce the confusion and fear that people, especially children and domestic and sexual assault victims. Each victim and case is assigned a Victim Assistance Coordinator to work closely with them to answer their questions and prepare them for what to expect during this process.

1. The Victim Assistance Advocacy Program at the Carroll County Attorney’s Office provides information, guidance and support to victims of crime and their families. 2. The Victim Assistance Program, as part of the prosecution team, ensures that victims of crime are heard throughout the process and that they are informed at every stage of the case in which they are involved.

Court Advocacy is provided by trained volunteers and staff who offer support and assistance in obtaining protective orders and during other court appearances. As an agency, we do not provide legal advice or counsel. We do have general knowledge of local and statewide legal resources that can be given to survivors looking for legal advice or counsel. Also provided is 24 Hour Accompaniment at the hospital and police departments for victims seeking support.
