Our summer camp provides girls with an opportunity for empowerment through building and the use of power tools. This year our builders will spend the morning building adirondack chairs. The girls will be learning and practicing building skills in a safe and supportive environment. The afternoons will be filled with STEAM activities such as laser cutting, sewing, robotics and more! Builders will be provided with breakfast, snack, lunch, a bag of groceries, a new pair of shoes, and a backpack fully stocked with school supplies during their week at Girls at Work.

Lydia's House of Hope is a 365 day transitional housing program for homeless women and children in crisis. With over 40 in-house programs, we provide the support, advocacy, and foundational life skills needed to live a life of sustainable independence. **This is not a rehab, nor a shelter, it is a long term program dedicated to empowering women with the tools needed for independence and self-reliance to break the generational cycle of homelessness and poverty.

Harbor Care is uniquely designed to support your recovery journey-with or without insurance. No one is turned away, regardless of ability to pay. A full range of quality residential and outpatient services are offered so that we can accompany clients on their journeys from the first time they consider treatment to long-term recovery. We also connect families with systems and ensure long-term supports are in place for students with behavioral health issues. With specialized treatment that may include child care and transportation for parents in need of behavioral health care, we take a holistic, whole-family approach to ensuring health and wellness.

This peer support agency offers a variety of different support groups. Support groups focus range from Bipolar, Depression, Domestic Violence, Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgender, General Addictions/Dependencies, Suicide Survivors, etc. Some groups are for women. All groups are free.

Outpatient Program and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for women who experience substance use and a history of trauma and/or mental health issues. The program includes: case management, group treatment; and individual counseling. Program length averages 16 weeks. Childcare provided as needed. Transportation provided if needed within the city of Manchester. *****This program is open to community members as well as to Families in Transition residents.******

Well-woman annual exams, pelvic exams, breast exams and instruction in self breast exam, referral for mammography, pap tests, etc. Addtional tests for anemia, STIs (sexually transmitted infections), cholesterol screening, etc. are done as requested or required.

We offer after school programs that include literacy programs, fitness, STEM programs, self-defense, leadership skills, mind and body curriculum, and more. We also offer in-school and after school programming in schools all around NH. We provide girls with snacks and dinner made in our kitchens each day after school and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner during the summer.

A mentoring and summer camp for low-income girls. The mission is to provide socially and economically disadvantaged New Hampshire girls with new opportunities to develop skills, courage, and the confidence they need to handle the challenges of their lives. Following a successful 2-year commitment, the girls are invited to join the Circle Teen Program which will support them through high school.

Our Family Recovery Housing Program's are designed to provide safe and affordable temporary housing, up to one year, while offering comprehensive clinical and recovery supports to individuals. Our program has been designed to empower safety and recovery as a priority while assisting individuals with substance use disorder and behavioral health disorders to transition back to their own communities. By entering into Recovery Housing clients are becoming a participant in a program which means you are agreeing to work closely with your assigned treatment team and work towards self-sufficiency. When working with your treatment team you will have the opportunity to create an individualized treatment plan unique to your needs.

In our after school building workshops, girls are taught how to safely use power tools, including cordless sanders and screw guns. The girls will be learning and practicing building skills in a safe and supportive environment. Using an instruction model based on asking questions (the Socratic method), we encourage girls to use problem-solving, critical thinking, and team-building skills in the workshop, with the end result of higher self-esteem and more confidence. Each class builder receives a bag of groceries with toiletry items, a pair of shoes and a new sweatshirt to celebrate completion of the woodworking projects that will be taken home with them.

The VNA hosts a mens and womens drop in support group each month.
