Camp Mariposa is a year-round addiction prevention and mentoring program for youth affected by the substance use disorder of a family member.
Youth ages 9 to 12 who are facing the difficult challenges associated with a family member’s substance have the opportunity to attend free weekend camp sessions offered multiple times throughout the year. Youth can attend sessions every other month for a year or more and participate in fun, traditional camp activities combined with educational and support sessions led by mental health professionals.
Camp Mariposa builds knowledge, life skills, confidence and provides an opportunity to connect with peers and caring adult mentors. Additional social activities are offered for youth, alumni and their families throughout the year. All Camp Mariposa activities are provided free of charge. Youth who attend Camp Mariposa learn coping skills that build resiliency and ultimately break the inter-generational cycle of addiction. This award-winning program is offered in partnership with youth-focused organizations in communities across the country.
