Making Change is a group model designed and developed by Second Growth to provide prevention education and guidance to adolescents and young adults within the pre-contemplative and contemplative stages of their journey toward harm-reduction and sobriety. Second Growth hosts two Making Change groups on Tuesday evenings beginning at 5 pm. The first Group is for teens between the ages of 11 and 14 who are middle-school aged. The second Group is for teens between the ages of 14 and 19 who are high-school aged. Between the two Groups we enjoy social time while we serve a casual meal of pizza and beverages. All participants are welcome to attend this dinner time break.

Comprehensive program that covers the 5 pre-employment transition services hosted at community college campuses and GSIL offices throughout New Hampshire. In small groups (16 students max) students work through an academic curriculum presented as a simulated work environment with soft skills training braided throughout. Students will have the opportunity to earn academic credit through Extended Learning Opportunities (ELOs), become more aware of career options, and have work-based learning experiences out in the community to obtain a fuller understanding of employer expectations. There are 3 cohorts offered each year - Fall and Spring sessions (14 weeks), as well as Summer sessions (5 weeks). Scheduling for each session is as follows: • 4 days/week of academic instruction • 1 day/week of a work experience • Afternoon Computer Lab is also available for credit recovery

Second growth provides two camps July through August for Middle School students. Our Sports Camp includes a focus on athleticism, pre-season conditioning, speed and agility training, and leadership skills for students who enjoy team- or individual sports of all kinds during any time of the year. Arts Camp includes a focus on creative exploration in the areas of the students’ particular interests: music, fine arts, creative writing, the performing arts, film and video, and arts and crafts.
