Comprehensive Outpatient Community Mental Health Services.

The primary objective of the Alternative Program is for students to earn credits toward graduation with a high school diploma from their sending school district. Many of these students have been identified as having learning and/or emotional handicaps that have interfered with their functioning effectively in a traditional educational setting. The Alternative Program is approved by the New Hampshire Department of Special Education to serve both Learning Disabled and Emotionally Handicapped students. By focusing on the core academics, along with physical education and outdoor, recreational activities at Second Start, many students are able to continue to attend their sending school for half days where they can access a variety of elective and enrichment courses. Many times this relieves a significant stressor and allows the student to succeed in both settings. For students in need of more separation from the sending school, the Choices and TET programs are available and award elective credit through work on transition, social, work and life skills.

Avenues provides evidence-based treatment for substance use disorder. Types of treatment available include residential treatment, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, outpatient, and limited medical withdrawal management.

MWA offers individual psychotherapy to adult clients (ages 18 & up). Services are provided by a Psychologist or a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. MWA accepts most insurances and charges on a sliding scale fee for self-pay clients. There are a limited amount of evening hours available outside the normal business hours.

Transitional housing services where individuals with limited community placement options live in a residential setting with appropriate treatment.

Riverbend’s Children’s Services clinicians provides comprehensive, evidence-based treatment to help young people and their families identify and resolve issues that keep them from success. Counseling is available for a wide variety of issues like anxiety, depression, self-harming behaviors, divorce, blended families, school and/or learning difficulties, autism spectrum disorders, gender identity issues, grief, trauma, abuse, addiction, chronic illness, suicidal thoughts, etc. Services are available at our offices in Concord and Franklin, at schools, in clients’ homes, and at other community locations.

Our Child, Adolescent and Family Services department provides individual, family and group mental health services for those ages 0-25. We also offer a substance use disorder program that is based on a specially developed program that has been successful for persons ages 12-25. We are also providing services within the schools, as part of our Mental Health in the Schools program, and have added Mental Health in the Camps services at various local Summer camps during the season. The Warm Line is a free, confidential, non medical, non judgmental peer support service. Trained peer operators answer calls dealing with a wide range of issues including loneliness, sorting out difficult situations, sadness, uncomfortable or intense emotions, and social isolation.

NAMI provides information, education and support to all families and communities affected by mental illness. Also provides training of community teams to respond competently and consistently to suicidal events, including suicide threats, attempts, and completions. The Elliot’s Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provide individual and group-based treatment of co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. PHP and IOP are for individuals who need care that is more intensive than individual outpatient programs but not as intensive as residential treatment.

Mental health services for ages 3 and older. Services include, but not limited to: individual, couples, group, family therapy and Psychological and Neuropsychological assessments and testing. Support services for established clients may include: case management, vocational, community, and home based services.

Learning and Attention Disorder Services are provided to children and their families who are coping with learning, attention, or behavior problems in the home, at school, or at the workplace. In addition, consultation and training services for schools and other agencies as needed is also provided. Current services include: •Psychological Evaluations •Psychotherapeutic Services •Parent Training •Consultation and Training Services for schools and agencies •Development of Positive Behavior Support Plans Child, Adolescent, and Family Services also provides distinct services for children with a diagnosis on the autism spectrum and their families. Staff work with children in developing emotional regulation skills, social skills and coping skills as well as with functional communication and other augmentative and alternative communication strategies. When working with the families, staff help them develop the skills to manage symptoms both in the home and community settings. Staff provide support to parents and caregivers to assist their children in developing skills to increase independence and improve their overall functioning in all aspects of life.
