The Eager Breathers Fresh Air Day Cruise is for between 400 and 500 individuals living with COPD. This is an annual event in September. The participants board the MS Mount Washington for a luncheon event complete with entertainment. The ship cruises around Lake Winnipesaukee.
The participants generally arrive in buses or vans from pulmonary rehabilitation programs across the state. Volunteers assist the participants to board the ship, many in wheelchairs.
There are health care professionals and a large oxygen source aboard the ship to assist if needed.
Donations for medical equipment and entertainment talent are accepted.
