An Asthma Educator will work with parents and children to develop a plan for improved asthma management. Topics covered include information about child's medication; asthma action plans and how they can help your child's asthma; and identifying common asthma triggers in the home. When funds allow, the program will provide you with the items you need to help get your child's asthma under control, such as mattress and pillow case covers, and allergen-free cleaning supplies.

Through this workshop, child care providers, teachers, and parents are given the tools and knowledge needed to help children with asthma breathe easier and stay healthy. Participants learn the basics of asthma, how to detect warning signs and symptoms, how to recognize common triggers and to avoid them, tips on preventing an asthma episode, what to do when an episode has begun, and common medications used with asthma.

Free home visit by an EMT to help get your asthma under control. This service is available to all ages. Vists are tailored to your needs but can include 1) help with your medications 2) help identifying and managing triggers in the home 3) review of your symptoms and treatments 4) connections to community resources.
