Headrest offers an array of substance use and mental health services. Some of the services are: substance use and mental health evaluation, substance use and mental health counseling, drug use information, substance use information, etc. Headrest offers individual and group counseling and intensive outpatient therapy. ***Services are provided regardless of ability to pay. ****Family education is provided on substance use disorders. The mission of the Community Action Team (CAT) is to develop community awareness and provide educational resources for teens and parents around the issue of teen substance abuse. Through its support of prevention activities and educational initiatives CAT hopes to reduce underage drinking and illegal drug use among young people. CAT also serves as a resource for parents and provides encouragement and support for teens with substance abuse problems who are seeking help.

Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Program for Opioid Use Disorder Mid-State has a specialized team dedicated to helping people achieve sobriety and live a life free of substances. Our goal is to help our patients learn to live without drugs by developing healthier coping skills during their course of treatment. Mid-State offers outpatient Medication-assisted treatment in Bristol and Plymouth using medications in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies for the treatment of substance use disorders. The program is appropriate for adults 18 years of age or older, including those who are pregnant.

Our counselors conduct an initial assessment to determine appropriate next steps and provide recommendations for further intervention when needed. We also offer outpatient treatment for substance use disorder as well as a research-based program designed to reduce the risk of future alcohol and other drug use for teens.

Making Change is a group model designed and developed by Second Growth to provide prevention education and guidance to adolescents and young adults within the pre-contemplative and contemplative stages of their journey toward harm-reduction and sobriety. Second Growth hosts two Making Change groups on Tuesday evenings beginning at 5 pm. The first Group is for teens between the ages of 11 and 14 who are middle-school aged. The second Group is for teens between the ages of 14 and 19 who are high-school aged. Between the two Groups we enjoy social time while we serve a casual meal of pizza and beverages. All participants are welcome to attend this dinner time break.

Parenting Journey in Recovery is a 14-session group specifically designed for parents in recovery. This program helps parents explore past family patterns, begin to heal past wounds, and seize the opportunity to take a new path that strengthens recovery, involves personal responsibility, and take positive actions, while facing the daily challenges of living with addiction. Parenting Journey in Recovery will help you to: Identify strengths and increase your resiliency, build greater trust and connections to others, become more confident in your recovery and more hopeful and optimistic about the future, and understand what it means to be a parent while struggling with challenges of recovery.

AskPETRA is a substance use connector and resource for northern NH, providing resources for prevention, education, treatment, recovery and assistance for all those at risk of or living with substance use disorder, providers, community and family.
