The Plymouth House is a 12-Step retreat and addiction treatment center nestled in the picturesque foothills of the White Mountains in New Hampshire. The Plymouth House has combined its expertise as a successful 12-Step retreat with Guardian’s world-class medical and clinical care.

If you need to step-up from community MH services for extra support or stepping down back from a BHU, Receiving Center, or the State hospital. We are a home like environment. With trained Peer Support Specialist (non-medical & non-clinical setting). For a short-term transitional stay. This is a voluntary program. You must be able set and achieve short term goals within 30 to 120 days. You must be able to live with others in program, you must be able to care for yourself and be able to manage your own medication.

The John H. Sununu Youth Services Center (SYSC) is a 24-hour secure treatment facility that offers intensive treatment for New Hampshire’s detained and committed youth, both male and female, ages 13 to 17. The program encompasses education, residential unit life, permanency planning, as well as clinical treatment services. The goal at SYSC is to provide youth with ongoing assessment of their needs and strengths, as well as comprehensive mental health treatment. Treatment focuses on stabilization, mitigation of risk, and preparing youth for a successful return to the community, with reunification as a primary goal.

Neurobehavioral Residential/Educational Treatment Program at the Zachary Road facility designed for males and females from ages 5 to 21 with pervasive developmental disorders, nonverbal learning disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, and other neurological disorders. Services includes: on-site psychiatry, nursing, psychology, education, nutrition, recreation therapy, teaching of independent living skills, vocational training, clinical social work, speech and language and occupational and physical therapy evaluation and services.

The Retreat's Abigail Rockwell Children's Center (ARCC) is a multi-track residential treatment center providing expert care for children ages 6 to 14. Located in a home-style dwelling that accommodates 8 children, this setting is ideal for specialized programming to help children who are transitioning from childhood to adolescence.

The Robert B. Jolicoeur Schools serve students 8-21 with both general and special educational needs. The highly advantageous faculty to student ratio insures exceptional instruction and includes all related services. Our faculty use Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports to help students develop behavioral and social skills. Services includes: Extended school year programming; Clinical services; Functional Behavior Assessments; Vocational services; Camping & recreation programs; Special Olympics; Residential services; Standardized testing; Integrated arts program and Occupational, Physical, Speech & Language therapy

The Senior Behavioral Health Unit is designed as a short-term inpatient treatment program for adults 65 and older (<65 on case by case basis) who are experiencing severe behavioral and/or emotional symptoms. Program provides stabilization and individualized care in a safe, supportive environment. Services include evaluation, daily psychiatric assessment, medical management, 24/hour nursing care, individual and group therapies, family education/support, and discharge planning and coordination of follow up care.

Our residential program is a safe, home-like environment that provides support and evaluation for individuals who are experiencing challenges in managing symptoms related to their mental illness with or without co-occurring substance use. The residence is a modified therapeutic community, a treatment model where collaboration and community are integral to the recovery process, and where peers are encouraged to develop relationships and provide feedback and support in an individual’s recovery. The residential program is staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, to provide support, treatment intervention, and monitoring. Length of stay is determined on an individualized basis as not all our participants’ needs are the same.

For children ages 5 to 12 who are experiencing a variety of serious emotional and behavioral challenges we provide acute crisis stabilization, assessment, and treatment.

Transitional Housing Services is a residential treatment program with a progressive reputation of providing comprehensive clinical, vocational services and life skills for adults living with mental illness that are seeking independent living.

Step Up/Step Down is a short-term (120 day) residential program to assist people experiencing mental health crises to avoid an inpatient stay in a restrictive psychiatric facility (Step Up), or to assist people leaving a psychiatric facility by providing a supportive environment while they transition back to their community. It is a peer-run program.

Riverbend offers a continuum of residential options for people with psychiatric disabilities, including supervised apartments, short-term crisis and transitional housing, group homes, specialized services for elders and long-term residential care.
