Volunteers complete urgently needed home repairs to make a home safe, warm, and dry. All work is directed by trained COVER staff.

The RSVP Fix-It Program is available to seniors over 60 and disabled homeowners in Hillsborough County to enable them to remain safe and secure in their homes. Free minor home repairs for under-resourced families, the elderly and families with physically challenged individuals, performed by Jr. & Sr. High School students. Paint, drywall, small & easy flooring and repairs to: decks, ramps siding. Small low pitch, low to the ground roofing are all within their skill set. Students cannot perform electrical, plumbing nor structural tasks.

The wood bank provides firewood to families and individuals who use wood as a primary heat source and can't afford to buy it. The wood bank is for urgent and emergency use only.

RSVP CHORE CORPS volunteers donate their services for minor repairs and chores such as yard work and small carpentry jobs (no ladders) as well as errands and shopping for people (no rides.) 3. RSVP BONE BUILDERS exercise classes are offered at community locations in Grafton and Sullivan Counties. 4. RSVP GOOD MORNING volunteers make a telephone reassurance calls to frail elders or those living alone to check up daily and address social isolation.

This program is nonfunded and all services are provided by volunteers.

With an agency referral, homeowners can apply for small repairs affecting accessibility, health, and safety. Labor is free. Furnaces, roofs, and septic systems are NOT done. We can refer you to local resources that can help with transportation, home repair and safety improvements, shopping, meals, household help, gardening and lawn care, personal care, companionship, pet care and legal and financial management.

Hammers for Veterans provides home repairs and modifications needed to ensure safety and independence. Some examples of the services provided are: installation of wheelchair ramps, widening of doors, removal of barriers in the home that impede mobility, and others repairs that impact safety.
