The NH Humane society offers adoption, foster and volunteer opportunities.

The services offered include: adoption, fostering, feline rescue, low cost spay or neuter information, Free spay program for mother cats and trap-neuter-return help. It has an adoption center located in the PetsMart store at 290 South Broadway (Route 28) in Salem, New Hampshire.

ASPCA offers a Pet Loss Hotline. Pet parents can receive help from the ASPCA Pet Loss Support program with the following issues: *Assistance with the decision to euthanize. *Comfort and support at the time of euthanasia. *Help with grieving the loss. *Advice on dealing with children, the elderly or disabled individuals who are facing a death of a companion animal. *Helping the surviving animals in the household to cope. *Assistance in establishing a relationship with a new pet.

The UVHS provides the following services: Accepts animals and strays and offers animal adoptions. Provides free emergency boarding for victims of domestic violence, hospitalization or other crisis situations. Monthly low-cost spay/neuter clinics for the public, including vaccines. Offers lost pet services. A pet food pantry to provide temporary assistance during financial hardships.
