The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants & Children (WIC) provides nutrition education, breastfeeding support and access to nutritious foods to help keep pregnant women, new mothers, infants and preschool children healthy and strong. Services provided include: • WIC provides vouchers redeemable at area grocery stores for milk, cheese, eggs, juice, peanut butter, cereal, wheat bread and soy options. Additional dollar value vouchers are provided to purchase fresh, frozen or canned fruits and vegetables. • Referrals: Receive referrals for immunizations, health care and other programs. • Breastfeeding: WIC offers education and counseling to support your breastfeeding goals. • Health Screening: Learn about your child’s growth and development with regular height and weight measurements. • Nutrition education and counseling: WIC nutritionists offer nutrition tips and ideas on how to make healthy and affordable meals.

Eligible participants in Hillsborough and Rockingham counties enrolled in the WIC Program will be eligible to receive a $30 FMNP benefit (while funding is available) to buy local, fresh fruits, vegetables, and cut herbs this summer between August 9 and October 31 with authorized farmers. • The Grapevine offers a private space and computer for residents to apply for state assistance if necessary using NH Easy. A Grapevine staff member is also available to assist those who need help in entering their information. This service is offered by appointment only.

The Women, Infants and Children Nutrition Program (WIC) provides nutrition education, breastfeeding support, health screenings and nutritious foods to pregnant women, new mothers, infants, and children up to their 5th birthday. • State Supplement Cash Program (SSP), supports elderly adults and individuals that are physically disabled, mentally disabled, or legally blind. Services are provided for eligible individuals through the following programs:
• Aid to the Permanently and Totally Disabled (APTD): for individuals who are between the ages of 18 and 64 and who are physically or mentally disabled.
• Aid to the Needy Blind (ANB): is available for individuals of any age who are legally blind.
• Old Age Assistance (OAA): available for individuals age 65 or older.

• Emergency Assistance Program (EA), helps families get or keep their homes. EA helps pay for rent or utility security deposits, first month's rent, home heating fuel deliveries, or past due rent, mortgage, or utility debts. Families must meet all the eligibility rules for Financial Assistance for Needy Families (FANF) cash assistance. However, families do not have to get the FANF cash benefit to qualify for EA.

• Food Stamps/Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), provides nutrition benefits to eligible low-income individuals and families so they can purchase healthy food and move towards self-sufficiency.

• MEDICAID FOR EMPLOYED ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES (MEAD), is for ages 18 through 64.

Advocates help persons with disabilities obtain Social Security, SSI, and APTD benefits and access to health care through Medicare and Medicaid. The Project also works for improvements in the APTD/Medicaid system. Advocates assist individuals and families with eligibility issues for unemployment compensation, state assistance programs such as food stamps, Medicaid and cash benefits for families, and municipal welfare programs.
