The Emergency Department (ED) staff members at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) provide emergency care for patients with a whole spectrum of illnesses and injuries. The DHMC Emergency Department is the only verified level one Trauma Center in the region and receives all ambulance transports from communities in the area. The ED also receives many emergency transfers by ground and by air from facilities throughout Northern New England.
