The Federal Government's Student Financial Aid section provides: information about federal student aid programs, help with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and general information about federal student loans. This section of the Federal Department of Education also has: checklists, college preparation information, resources for military families, and more. Some of the information is available in Braille. Much of the information is available in Spanish
When families are struggling with their Federal Student Loan Payments, they can call the helpline and speak with an expert who will find programs to reduce their payment and/or seek loan forgiveness programs.

The OIG Hotline is available for anyone who knows of or suspects fraud, waste, abuse, mismanagement, or violations of laws and regulations involving U.S. Department of Education (ED) funds or programs. This includes allegations of suspected wrongdoing by ED employees, contractors, grantees, schools and school officials, persons in positions of trust involving ED funds or programs, collection agencies, recipients of student financial assistance, or lending institutions.
