When you contact LRS, specially trained staff will: help you evaluate your situation and (IF you need an attorney), refer you to a lawyer in your area who handles your type of case, make every effort to direct you to another source of assistance if a lawyer is not what you need.

603 Legal Aid provides help to clients with problems in the following areas: 1. Family: Domestic violence, divorce, separation, annulment, adoption, child custody, interstate custody, child support, guardianship; 2. Benefits and welfare: Town and city welfare, unemployment insurance, public housing, Social Security, Medicaid, Food Stamps, disability benefits, SSI and Temporary Aid to Needy Families (TANF); 3.Housing: Landlord/tenant disputes, eviction, housing discrimination, housing preservation, public housing, Section 8, and housing conditions; 4. Consumer: Debt collection, auto repossession, bankruptcy, and consumer protection; 5. Criminal Annulment; 6. Foreclosure Relief

The Modest Means Legal Program of the NH Bar Association can refer income-eligible clients to attorneys who have agreed not to charge more than $80 - $125 per hour for some legal matters. Ineligible cases include plaintiffs in civil lawsuits or cases where the client is eligible for a public defender or court-appointed counsel.
