Oncology nurse navigators help newly diagnosed cancer patients, current cancer patients and family members. Your oncology nurse navigator will: Facilitate communication between all members of the healthcare team Provide education on disease processes, treatment options and clinical trial availability Help patients make informed decisions about their care Coordinate office visits across medical disciplines to streamline cancer care delivery Serve as a reliable and trusted source with answers to any questions Organize multidisciplinary team conferences to promote collaboration in cancer treatment Provide a personal touch to cancer care by visiting patients at appointments, assessing patients’ needs and relaying relevant information to providers Advocate for patients’ needs and link them with cancer support resources

Provides court advocacy, support and court accompaniment for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking who are applying for restraining/protective orders, or who are witness or defendants in criminal cases. Advocates provide emotional support and information for survivors of domestic and sexual violence and stalking through our 24-hour support line. An advocate is also available in person at the office. Advocates can meet survivors at the hospital, police department, or court as well.

Housing Justice Project (HJP) attorneys and paralegals promote equal access to housing for NHLA clients by working to preserve their housing. In addition the HJP fights housing discrimination by investigating complaints of discrimination. The HJP also helps individuals and families in emergency situations who are either currently without shelter or at imminent risk of becoming homeless. Advocates help persons with disabilities obtain Social Security, SSI, and APTD benefits and access to health care through Medicare and Medicaid. The Project also works for improvements in the APTD/Medicaid system. Advocates assist individuals and families with eligibility issues for unemployment compensation, state assistance programs such as food stamps, Medicaid and cash benefits for families, and municipal welfare programs.

The NH Governor's Commission on Disability (GCD) is an executive branch State agency providing technical assistance and guidance relative to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The GCD strives to provide timely information to the Governor, state agencies, the NH legislature, and our fellow citizens on the needs, rights, and interests of citizens with disabilities. The Commission's goal is to remove the barriers, architectural or attitudinal, which bar persons with disabilities from participating in the mainstream of society. They advise the Governor, state agencies, and the NH Legislature on the needs, rights, and interests of citizens with disabilities.
