Eligibility

Must demonstrate: 1) the need for housing; 2) the ability to pay a mortgage 3) the willingness to partner with Habitat to help build your home. Also, eligibility is based on AMI (Area Medium Income) - 40 to 80 percent of Area Median Income.

Application process

Our website will update when we are taking applications for a new partner family for a new build.

Fees

No fees are charged to apply for a Habitat home. However, applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to save money for a down payment and closing costs over the course of a year and must be able to maintain a balanced budget over a 12-month period and make monthly mortgage payments over the course of a 30-year mortgage term.

Description

Local affiliates of national organization build homes with volunteer labor and donated materials, then sell the homes for no profit and with no interest mortgages to low-income families. Those families must help with the construction of their homes. Each local affiliate is responsible for its own program.
