HOME FOR NOW | HOMELESS CENTER FOR STRAFFORD COUNTY
Shelter for up to 40 people with 10 "dorm or family style" rooms that can assist families and community members. The shelter is a dry shelter and usage of alcohol and any non prescription medications or substances are not permitted on the property. Curfew is 10 pm with exceptions for those that are working second or third shifts. *Shelter residents are provided with: access to medical and dental care, mental health counseling, referrals to ongoing substance recovery treatment (I.E. -LADC or MLADC IOP), and pharmaceutical maintenance programming. resume creation, interview skills, job searches, help finding permanent housing, literacy and learning, and with food, clothing, and material goods for move outs. Communal Meals, parenting education, comprehensive case management, supportive services and aftercare services following housing placements.

Home For Now: Conducts intakes via phone before a planned move in. Clients will be referred to city/town welfare to alert cities and towns of their residents. Note* The Homeless Center is not a walk in facility "Home for Now" is a privately funded shelter and therefore requires an intake process prior to being accepted. Staff may not always be available to call back clients immediately. We serve many families with children, many elderly, some individuals.

Shelter is available to anyone without a safe alternative place to stay, and without the means to rent suitable shelter. All services are provided on a space-available basis with preference given to Strafford County Residents, then to Seacoast residents.

The Homeless Center for Strafford County provides safe and supportive seasonal overnight shelter for single women and families during the winter months. A secondary objective is to empower the homeless through professional case management and/or as a referral service to help the homeless live more self-sufficient lives. We also offer transitional housing units to further bridge individuals attempting to reestablished after experiencing homelessness.
