SENIOR COMMUNITY SERVICE EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM (SCSEP) | OPERATION ABLE
The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) is a federally funded, job-based employment and training program for unemployed individuals aged 55 years or older with an income no greater than 125% of the federal poverty limit. - SCSEP Participants gain work experience in a variety of community service activities at nonprofit and government organizations, including schools, hospitals, senior centers, and soup kitchens. These organizations are referred to as "Host Agencies". - Participants work an average of 20 hours per week and are paid (by Operation ABLE, not the Host Agency) the highest of the federal or state minimum wage. - Operation ABLE also provides optional basic computer skills training to all participants that are interested.
