Application process

Call ahead and request a registration packet to complete and return. Once background checks are complete, the driver comes to the office for training.

Fees

There is no cost to apply to be a Volunteer Driver. Mileage reimbursement is offered to each driver, currently set at $0.67/mile. These funds are provided by the Federal Transit Administration, through NH Department of Transportation.

CVTC sends out ride requests by email and phone; drivers respond when availability permits. Drivers use our on-line trip management system.

CVTC’s Volunteer Drivers provide “no-fee” transportation for people who do not have access to transportation because of age, ability, economic situation or other limiting circumstances. Our trip purposes include non-emergency medical & social service appointments, as well as trips to the grocery store and the pharmacy.
