HEAD START | SNHS HEAD START - HILLSBOROUGH AND ROCKINGHAM COUNTY
Eligibility
Children must be at least three years old by September 30th and reside in Hillsborough or Rockingham Counties.
Families can meet Head Start eligibility in a variety of ways:
Children in foster care
Children from families experiencing homelessness
Children from families receiving TANF or SNAP benefits
Children from families receiving SSI benefits
Children whose family income is below 130% of the federal poverty level
*Please note you may meet eligibility guidelines for Head Start or Early Head Start in other ways than above. If you are looking to enroll a child, please contact us to discuss your specific situation.

Early Head Start is an infant/toddler child development program for children 6 weeks-3 years designed to provide high-quality, nurturing environments for infants and toddlers. Head Start is a pre-school child development program for children three to five years old designed to help children and their families prepare the skills needed for kindergarten. Both programs involve the whole family in a multifaceted approach to early education with a focus on school readiness through center attendance and home visits.
