US citizens or legal residents; Age restriction- 18 or older; Have not seen an ophthalmologist in three or more years; Do not belong to an HMO, PPO, have private insurance or receive benefits through the VA.

Insurance will be billed and accepted as payment in full for the physician's services waiving co-pays and unmet deductibles. Uninsured seen at no cost.

Description

The EyeCare America program connects eligible adults 18 years and older with local volunteer ophthalmologists who provide a medical eye exam at no out-of-pocket cost, and up to one year of follow up care for any condition diagnosed during the initial exam, for the physician services. ***Eyeglasses and the exam for eyeglasses are not covered.

EyeCare America, one of the country’s leading public service programs, provides medical eye care to adults 18 years and older through our volunteer ophthalmologists. Ninety percent of the care provided is at no out-of-pocket cost to the patient. The website has an online referral center to see if a person qualifies for our programs.
